Arctis 7 Firmware Update

As a gamer on a budget, the 3GC controller for PC is very affordable, and works fine for my needs. But little information is out there on this controller due to its cheap nature, despite it being $20 and purchasable at most common retailers (Best Buy and GameStop for example). Due to this when attempting to setup this controller for the first time out of the box, I found it quite difficult and had to find my own answers. So I figure I'll post here for those who also have a 3GC and would like some advice on how to set this up for use with Dolphin or other things. As it turns out, it is fairly simple.
for reference...
I am using Windows 7 and Dolphin 4.0.2 If you are using another OS or Windows version I cannot help you, although it may still be informative enough to lead you along. Ask for someone with your OS to do a guide and I will happily post it here if they take enough pity to do so.
Motioninjoy = MIJ
3GC = Steelseries 3GC Controller
So, here goes!
#0 [If you do not have MIJ you can skip to #1 below]
First off, if you have Motioninjoy(MIJ) installed as I used to, your 3GC will LIKELY NOT FUNCTION as you will want it to. This seems to stem from the cheap nature of 3GC and MIJ not having a compatible driver. If MIJ is installed, it will automatically install its own useless driver after plugging the 3GC into a USB then give you error messages. My solution was to completely uninstall/delete leftover files for MIJ then remove the useless driver it installed by going into:
Control Panel --> Devices and Printers.
From there right click on the controller (should say something along the lines of 'Motioninjoy'), click properties. In the hardware tab, click on Properties again. From here click on 'Change Settings' in the first tab, then click the Driver tab. Hit 'uninstall' then unplug the 3GC USB afterwards. After MIJ is removed from the picture (can you disable it rather than uninstalling it? I just uninstalled it as it is not necessary with a 3GC and my needs), you can again plug the 3GC in and it should install the basic driver through plug and play. Go back and check Devices and Printers AGAIN and confirm it shows 'Generic USB Joystick' rather than 'Motioninjoy'. If your controller still shows up as 'Motioninjoy' in Control Panel --> Devices and Printers, then you still have leftover MIJ files interfering as I did. Do a manual search for 'motion' in your C drive and anything labeled with 'Motioninjoy' delete.
Phew, thats out of the picture. BUT WAIT!

As it turns out (in my case at least) the plug and play driver installed is rudimentary and not everything you need! So, go to the official Steelseries website here
http://steelseries.com/us/support/downloads
Scroll to 'Controllers' about halfway through and download the 3GC driver. From there it is a simple task of unpacking the driver with your choice of ZIP program (7Zip in my case) and installing it as you would any other program.
After you have done this, check 'Control Panel --> Devices and Printers' and ensure that your 3GC reads as 'Generic USB Joystick.' I suggest you also restart after this process is complete - I personally had to for the next step to work!
So now you are prepared to set your controller up in Dolphin! But how, you ask?

Very simple and easy! Before editing any keys, make sure the 3GC controller itself is displaying a 'RED' light above 'MODE'(between the two joysticks) rather than a 'GREEN' one. Do this by pressing the MODE button until it shows 'RED.' Now open Dolphin and click GCPad. On the top left of the new window, you want to click 'Device' dropdown and select option number 2 labeled 'DInput/0/USB/ Vibration Joystick'. If your only choice is 'Generic USB Controller' or something along those lines, you need to install the driver from step #1 IF you want the controller to vibrate in your games.
From here, it is a simple matter of mapping the layout of your controls as you see fit and what functions for the game you will be playing. Personally I am currently playing Twilight Princess, so I modeled my button layout to that of a Gamecube controller:

BUT WHAT ABOUT RUMBLE COLD!?!?!? THIS 3GC IS CAPABLE AND I PAID $20 FOR/STOLE/BORROWED IT DANGIT!
Simple enough my cheap/thieving/poor or otherwise skeptical friend! Assuming you followed the previous steps it is as simple as clicking the menu for 'Rumble' and selecting the first option 'Constant.' From there click 'Test' to confirm it vibrates your remote then hit 'Select' and then 'Apply' then 'OK'!!
I suggest you make a save file to reserve all your effort and avoid crying later on!
Potential different OS guides here later if others bother making them, will post here with permission.
If you have any suggestions/clarifications/spelling errors please PM me and I will check them out! Did lots of fixing and clarifying. Give me a break, this post is pretty damn good consdiering I am an actual Dolphin.
